LOS ANGELES -
Jordan Wilkes had a career night in Cal's 73-62 loss at USC on Saturday night. Wilkes posted a personal-best 16 points before leaving the game early with a sprained ankle. His previous career best was 11, which he had accomplished more than once, the last time coming against Dartmouth earlier this season. Wilkes also collected nine rebounds, second best on the team for the game.
Jamal Boykin recorded his fourth double-double of the season (18 points, 10 rebounds), and was also the team's sixth on the year. Boykin's 18 points and 10 rebounds were both team highs. It was the 12th time he reached double figures in scoring, fourth in rebounding and the 12th time he has led Cal on the boards. Boykin also went 6-for-8 from the free-throw line.
Jerome Randle posted 12 points and five assists. Half of his points came on two three-pointers he connected on. He now has 130 career three-point field goals, ninth best in Cal history. With his five assists, Randle is also ninth all-time in career assists with 322. Randle, Cal's all-time leading free-throw shooter, was a clean 2-for-2 from the charity stripe.
Former Cal basketball players Lamond Murray, Ryan Jamison, Omar Wilkes and Eric McDonough were in attendance at tonight's game.
