Cal-Colorado Postgame Notes

  • Kameron Rooks pulled down a career-high 12 rebounds, his third straight game with at least seven. He first set a personal best with 7 vs. Arizona Jan. 23 then matched the total Wednesday at Utah. Only Ivan Rabb, with 13 rebounds vs. East Carolina and Rice, has had more in a game for the Bears this season.
  • Jaylen Brown scored all of his 21 points in the second half. It was his fifth 20-point game of the season and fourth in his last five road games. Brown tied a career high with 27 at Utah Wednesday and scored 20 at Oregon and at Oregon State.
  • With his 21 points, Brown moved into a tie for 10th place on Cal's freshman scoring list with Leonard Taylor (1984-85). Both have 347 points.
  • With 13 points, Jordan Mathews increased his career total to 1,035, which moved him up to a tie for 43rd place on Cal's all-time list with Monty Buckley (1992-96)
  • With six rebounds, Ivan Rabb entered the top 10 on Cal's all-time freshman list. Now with 185, he ranks 10th and is on track to become just the fifth Cal freshman to average at least 8.0 rpg.
  • Cal opened the game by shutting out Colorado for the first 5 minutes and 19 seconds, by which time the Bears had built an 8-0 lead. The Buffaloes missed their first eight shots from the floor and 18 of their first 19 before rallying
