Cal-Oregon State Postgame Notes

  • Ivan Rabb finished with 21 points (9-11 FG) and 15 rebounds – both career highs - for his team-leading 10th double-double of the year.
  • With his 15 rebounds tonight, Rabb broke the Cal freshman record, now with 274 boards. Ryan Anderson held the old mark of 269 during the 2006-07 season.
  • Jabari Bird, who entered the game averaging 10.0 ppg, scored 10 points in the first 6:06 of the first half. He finished with 20 points, including 5-of-7 from 3-point range. The total comes after scoring just one point in Cal's game last Saturday at Arizona State and marks his fourth 20-point game of the season.
  • With his three 3-pointers, Jordan Mathews has now made multiple 3-pointers 25 times this year. He moved up to second on Cal's season list, now with 84. Only Jerome Randle's 92 3-pointers from 2009-10 are ahead of him.
  • In addition, Mathews scored 17 total points to increase his career scoring total to 1,168, moving him up to 31st on Cal's list. Richard Midgley is next in line (1,176 points, 2003-06).
  • Tyrone Wallace dished a career-high 10 assists (1 turnover), breaking the mark of nine he had vs. Rice on Nov. 13, 2015.
  • Cal has won 9 of last 10 games and 11 of its past 14.
  • Cal has won its opening game 11saa times in 19 Pac-12 Tournaments.
  • Cal has reached at least the semifinal round eight times (last in 2012).
  • Cal is 4-1 vs. Oregon State in the Pac-12 Tournament after tonight's win.
  • Jaylen Brown had a career-high 4 steals.
  • As a team, Cal had six blocks, and is now within five of the school season record. The Bears have 156 this year and the mark stands at 161 from the 2012-13 campaign.
