Cal Hosts Gauchos In Non-Conference Contest
BERKELEY - The Cal-UC Santa Barbara men's water polo match originally scheduled for Oct. 20 will now be played on Sunday, Oct. 21 at noon at Spieker Aquatics Complex in Berkeley.
The schedule change will also affect the previously planned Cal Water Polo alumni game, which will be rescheduled for a date to be determined. Updates on the new date will be posted to CalBears.com when available.
The Bears and Gauchos will meet for non-conference competition in the first of just three more chances to see Cal play at home this season. An Oct. 27 match against UCLA and a Nov. 10 showdown with Stanford will finish the home schedule for the 2018 season with both matches set to be broadcast live by Pac-12 Networks. Start times for those games have yet to be announced.
Northern California fans will get a chance to see the Bears in action this weekend as they travel to Stanford to take part in the MPSF Invitational beginning on Friday. Cal takes on Loyola Marymount at 4:10 p.m. at Belardi Pool to kick off tournament play. Action continues Saturday with two matches and the weekend concludes with one match on Sunday. Dates, times and opponents for Saturday play will be determined by Friday's results.
