California Head Coach Mark Fox

Overall thoughts:
"We leave here with a win tonight, and I am hopeful that we can learn from tonight's game much like you would do after you lose a game because we didn't play particularly well in one portion of the first half. You have to be willing to learn on the games that you win, and not just learn after you get your tail beat. This group just hasn't been ahead a lot and we didn't handle it very well -- the great start. We handled it very immaturely to be honest with you and it cost us. It cost us the double-figure lead in the first half and fortunately we were able at halftime to self-correct and leave here with a win over a well-coached, quality team."

On Grant Anticevich's growth:
"I didn't judge any of these kids off of the previous year. I haven't looked at tape. I didn't look at the stat sheet. I gave them all a fresh start and from day one we thought, 'Grant's a really good three-point shooter.' So we built that into what we are doing because he has shot it well since we arrived and obviously tonight he got hot and we took full advantage of that."

On how much Juhwan Harris-Dyson's energy affected the team in the second half:
"He's trying to get health,y he is trying to get right and he brings an element to our game that we need. I felt like — he got a couple fouls in the first half — his plays in the second half, on both ends, I thought energized our team and I thought he really impacted the game."

California Sophomore Guard Matt Bradley

On the win and Grant's performance:
"Grant had a really great game -- 5-5, that's big time. We have a lot of threats…anybody can score on the team. I am just glad it was him that got off tonight."

On the team's shift in defensive play in the second half:
"I feel like offensively we changed and also our intensity — we picked it up a lot in the second half. We denied 3-point shots and we just manned up and guarded our man. Good overall effort from everybody."

On what the team would like to focus on with Prairie View A&M:
"We would like to achieve a win. We have got to attack them like any other game and hopefully come out successful."

California Junior Forward Grant Anticevich

On his play tonight:
"I think I'm just getting more comfortable, continuing to play each game and feel more comfortable out there. I think as a team we are improving each day. This kind of stuff is just coming natural to all of us more so than it did, even three games ago."

On the team's trend of starting slow and picking it up as the game goes on:
"I think we come out strong and then sometimes get a bit relaxed and then pick it up again in the second half. I feel like each game we have played we have improved in playing the full 40 minutes. Our emphasis is to play hard… however long the game goes for, to play hard that whole time. I think it is something that we have gotten better at every single game and it is something we are able to learn from. As coach says, self-correct."
