The Bears' touchdown to start the game marked the fourth time this season they have scored on their opening drive this season. Cal also scored on its opening drive against North Texas, Ole Miss and Washington State (all touchdowns).
 
DeShawn Collins scored his first career touchdown on a five-yard run in the first quarter. He added his second career TD in the fourth quarter on a 34-yard run. Collins posted career highs in rushes (15) and rushing yards (103), good for his first career 100-yard rushing performance and Cal's second 100-yard rushing performance this season (Christopher Brown Jr. vs. UC Davis, 197).
 
With his 14 tackles tonight, Evan Weaver now boasts 151 tackles this season, which ranks fourth in school single-season history. Weaver now owns two of the top four spots on that list. Weaver has posted double digit tackles in 16 of the last 17 games.  
 
Cal's scoring drive that ended with a Greg Thomas 37-yard FG was Cal's longest scoring drive this season in number of plays (15) and time (5:39).
 
Evan Tattersall, who was injured during the second quarter of Saturday's Cal-USC game, is alert and has movement in his extremities. He has taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
