Overall thoughts:
"Disappointing loss for our team. I felt like we got off to a very good start and then we let some offensive struggles impact our defense in the last half of the first half against a very good offensive team and we obviously can't do that. Saint Mary's shot the ball extremely well as we knew they would and we didn't do the job defensively to slow them down. Give them credit but we battled back but we are not into moral victories, and we will never be. And, so, we leave here with a loss."
 
On team's defense:
"We made some serious mental errors. When we had a hard time scoring in the first half, we let that frustration go to the other end and we made some serious mental errors which allowed open shots to a great three-point shooting team. And they'll make you pay, and Saint Mary's did."
 
On defending the three in the second half:
"I felt like we did a better job in the second half. I also thought think they made a point to run a little more clock, to go inside. I do think we were better in the second half."
 
"We did change a matchup, but essentially we changed our effort in the second half. That was probably the biggest key… I thought we played with a much more determined and focused approach defensively in the second half."

 

California Junior Forward Grant Anticevich

On the game that Andre Kelly had:
"Andre had a heck of a game, he played hard, finished all the plays and kept us in it the whole time, especially on the offensive end and holding it down on the defensive end and rebounding well."
 
On what made Fitts difficult to stop:
"He was being aggressive and he hit a lot of tough shots. If you talk about a few defensive mistakes we gave him the advantage."
 
On fighting throughout the whole game:
"I think we definitely in the second half continued to play hard and stuck with it. Every game trying to play the full 40 minutes is the emphasis and I think definitely the second half we played hard and competed as hard as we could so that's definitely a positive takeaway from the game."
 

California Sophomore Forward Andre Kelly

 
On his aggressive play:
"My teammates did a really good job of looking for me, I was trying to be aggressive. A lot of them were telling me, 'Just keep attacking,' because I was doing good. So, I was just looking to be aggressive."
 
On Saint Mary's offense:
"They did a really good job executing, they shoot the ball really well. They are a good team."
 
On what made Fitts difficult to stop:
"He's a really good player. He can shoot. He can drive. He's strong inside. Like Grant said, there were a few times on defense that we allowed some points."
