Smith And Zaccaro Named To Pac-12 All-Academic First Team
Ella Annest Earns Her Second Straight Pac-12 All-Academic Honor
BERKELEY - Thirteen California women's lacrosse student-athletes were named to the 2019 Pac-12 All-Academic team, as announced on Wednesday by the conference. Highlighting the Golden Bears' academic honors were first-team selections
Marina Smith and
Nikki Zaccaro, while
Ella Annest garnered all-academic second team honors for the second consecutive season.
The 13 selections are two shy of the program record of 15, which Cal earned for the 2016 season.
The 10 Bears who earned honorable mention honors are Lizabanks Campagna, Sophia Cerino, Eliza Christman, Cameron Gordon, Lauren Hickman, Marisa Kuberra, Kamryn Lanier, Kirsten Swanson, Kendall Swenson and Ashley Ward.
Two of the Bears - Swanson and Swenson - garnered all-academic honors for the third straight season, while Christman and Hickman earned honorable-mention honors for the second straight season.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and participate in at least half of their team's scheduled regular season events.
