Three Bears Medal At Under-23 World Rowing Championships

SARASOTA, Florida – Three members of the Cal women's rowing team earned medals this weekend, as the Under-23 World Rowing Championships came to a close at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida.

Kendall Fearnley, a rising junior from Huntington Beach, California, won bronze in the United States' eight, helping the red, white, and blue to a third-place finish behind the Netherlands and Great Britain.  

Jane Perrignon and incoming Golden Bear Imogen Purcell will also earned bronze, helping Australia to a third-place result in the coxed four.

Rising senior Kailani Marchak competed for Canada in the coxed four, narrowly missing out on the podium with a fourth-place finish.

The next upcoming major events on the international rowing calendar include the Pan American Games, which will be held from Aug. 6-10 in Lima, Peru, and the World Rowing Junior Championships, held Aug. 7-11 in Tokyo.
