Golden Bears Add McIntosh To Roster
Smith Signs Arizona Guard To Incoming Class
BERKELEY Â - Head coach
Charmin Smith and the Golden Bears are excited to announce the addition of Leilani McIntosh to the Cal Women's Basketball program for the upcoming 2019-20 season.
A dynamic point guard, McIntosh was the 2019 6A Premier Region Player of the Year at Xavier College Preparatory in Phoenix, Arizona, where she was also a member of the school's 1,000-point club. No stranger to competing in California, McIntosh played her club ball for West Coast Premier, along with fellow incoming Bear Cailyn Crocker.
McIntosh and Crocker are joined in Cal's incoming freshman class by Evelien Lutje Schipholt and Jazlen Green, who all look to make an impact both on and off the court for the Bears.
"Leilani is a dynamic guard who always caught my eye on the recruiting circuit," said Smith, who will be entering her first season as head coach of the Golden Bears. "She is a great facilitator who can also create offense for herself, and has a high basketball IQ. Leilani is the perfect addition to this already talented 2019 class, and I couldn't be any more thrilled to have such a high-character young lady as my first recruit."
