BERKELEY – The national champion Cal men's swimming & diving team continued to collect accolades from its work in the classroom during the 2018-19 season, as five Golden Bears earned Scholar All-America honors from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).

Pawel Sendyk earned first-team selection for the third time, while
Reece Whitley, the Pac-12 Swimming Freshman of the Year, claimed a spot on the top team along with
Nate Biondi.
Jarod Hatch and
Andy Song each received honorable mention for a second year.

The CSCAA first-team award recognizes student-athletes who have compiled grade-point averages of 3.50 or higher and competed at the NCAA Championships. Those who garnered honorable mention have earned a 3.50 GPA and swam a "B" time standard or competed at an NCAA zone diving qualifier.

Sendyk and Song, both rising seniors, and Biondi, a rising junior, also received Pac-12 All-Academic kudos for the 2018-19 season, with Sendyk and Biondi earning first-team selection and Song taking a spot on the second team.
