BERKELEY – The same enthusiasm and determination Matthew Mesman displays in the boat, he also demonstrates in the classroom. A mechanical engineering major on the Cal men's rowing team, Mesman recently completed his capstone project – a team assignment in which he and fellow classmates devised and built a paper recycling machine.
