Cal To Host No. 13/13 Stanford For Senior Day At Noon Saturday In Berkeley

DAVIS, Calif. – UC Davis led wire-to-wire Thursday in a 14-4 victory over Cal that concluded the Golden Bears' 2021 regular-season road schedule. Cal's top highlight came with 4:40 left in the contest when Kennedy Goss scored her first collegiate goal on an assist from Hanna Deringer that was also her first.

Ella Annest played in the 73rd game of her Cal career to tie a school record she now shares with Laura Cavallo (2004-07), Hilary Lynch (2004-07) and Leanna Zilioli (2003-06).

LizaBanks Campagna won a team-high four draw controls to give her 172 for her career and 74 during the 2021 season to move within two of both Cal's all-time and single-season records of 174 by Megan Tackas (2010-13) and 76 by Elizabeth Koehler (2018).

UC Davis scored five of the game's first six goals before Nikki Zaccaro brought the Bears within 5-2 on an unassisted goal with 15:42 to go in the first half.

But the Bears would never get any closer as the Aggies scored the final three goals of the first half to take an 8-2 lead at the break and then added the first three goals of the second to go ahead 11-2 before Kaia Evans notched the second goal of her career unassisted to end a 6-0 Aggies' run that spanned 34:56 between the goals from Zaccaro and Evans.

Amanda Morse had Cal's other goal early in the contest with 25:16 remaining in the first half when she went coast-to-coast and scored unassisted after UC Davis had scored the game's first two goals.

Cal played a pair of goalkeepers as starter Lily Rathbun (14:18, 5 GA, 2 SV) was replaced by Riley Drulinger (45:42, 9 GA, 8 SV) with 15:42 remaining in the first half and the Bears trailing, 5-2.
Sorana Larson had a game-high five goals for the Aggie, while Alex Agnew contributed a hat trick.

Cal concludes its regular season by hosting No. 13/13 Stanford for Senior Day at California Memorial Stadium on Saturday (Noon PDT). The contest will serve as the final regular-season and home game for nine Cal seniors – Annest, Campagna, Sophia Cerino, Marisa Kuberra, Kamryn Lanier, Joanna Levin, Marina Smith, Ashley Ward and Zaccaro – who will be honored along with Stanford's seniors in a pre-game ceremony.

Cal also still has the Pac-12 Championship remaining to be played May 5-8 at Stanford. Game times and seedings have yet to be announced.
