No. 9 Bears Shatter Records In Win Over UCSD
Cal Sets Four New Pool Standards In Victory
SAN DIEGO – Junior
Isabelle Stadden was a three-time winner and set a pool record in the 200 individual medley Friday as the No. 9 Cal women's swimming & diving team rolled past UC San Diego 170-92 at Canyonview Aquatic Center.
Stadden finished the 200 IM in a winning time of 2:02.32, eclipsing a four-year old record at the pool on UCSD's campus. She also captured the 200 freestyle and was part of the Golden Bears' winning 400 medley relay team that also set a pool record with a mark of 3:47.60.
Cal set four pool records overall and junior
Emily Gantriis was also a three-time winner as the Bears improved their dual meet record to 3-0 this fall.
Gantriis won the 50 free and 100 free races and also helped the Bears set a pool record in the 200 free relay. Senior Rachel Klinkler set a new pool benchmark in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:58.81, shattering the seven-year old record by almost four seconds.
Senior
Ayla Spitz was also a multiple winner, taking the 100 backstroke and 500 freestyle events.
Other Cal winners included sophomores
Mia Kragh (100 butterfly) and
Annika McEnroe (200 backstroke).
The Bears are now off until the Minnesota Invitational Nov. 30-Dec. 3.
