Cal will host eight regular-season games and the Pac-12 Championship in Berkeley in 2023.
BERKELEY – Cal unveiled its 2023 lacrosse schedule Tuesday in conjunction with the Pac-12 Networks' announcement of its 2023 spring broadcast slate. Among the highlights are the Golden Bears hosting the Pac-12 Championship for the first time May 5-8 at California Memorial Stadium and eight regular-season contests in Berkeley, including Senior Day against Stanford on Apr. 28. All five games of the Pac-12 Championship, Senior Day and three conference road contests will be televised live by one of seven regional Pac-12 Networks or the national feed.
"There is so much excitement around the upcoming 2023 season," first-year head coach
Jennifer Wong said. "We have a wonderful group of seniors who are motivated to make this their best year yet. On top of that, we are thrilled to be hosting the Pac-12 Lacrosse Championship in May."
Cal begins its 2023 season by playing four contests on the road, starting with a two-game stint in St. Charles, Missouri, where the Bears will take on Lindenwood on Feb. 10 before a neutral-site contest against Central Michigan at Lindenwood on Feb. 12.
The Bears return to California for the final two games of their season-opening road stretch for the Pac-12 opener televised by Pac-12 Bay Area at Stanford on Feb. 15 and future Pac-12 foe San Diego State on Feb. 19 with the Aztecs joining the conference in 2024.
Cal will open its home slate Feb. 25 against Cornell before Howard (Mar. 9) and American (Mar. 12) conclude a three-game homestand, all against nonconference opponents.
The bulk of the Bears' remaining schedule will come in Pac-12 action beginning with a two-game road trip to Oregon (Mar. 17) and Colorado (Mar. 19) with the Cal-Colorado tilt to be televised live by Pac-12 Mountain.
After 12 days off for spring break, Cal's first Pac-12 home games against USC (Mar. 31) and Arizona State (Apr. 2) are on the docket before the Bears play the same two schools on the road the following week at USC (Apr. 7) and Arizona State (Apr. 9), with the Cal-Arizona State game in Tempe televised on Pac-12 Arizona and Pac-12 Bay Area.
The Bears visit UC Davis (Apr. 15) for their final regular-season nonconference and road contest before a three-game homestand against Pac-12 opponents Oregon (Apr. 21), Colorado (Apr. 23) and Stanford (Apr. 28) concludes the regular season, with the Senior Day game against the Cardinal being televised by Pac-12 Bay Area.
The six-team Pac-12 Championship hosted by the Bears begins with a pair of quarterfinals on May 3 followed by two semifinals on May 4 and the May 6 championship match. All five games will be televised live by Pac-12 Networks.
