PALOS VERDES ESTATES – Senior Elena Arias matched her best round of the season by shooting 1-under par, and the Cal women's golf team moved up one more spot to finish in 11th place among the loaded field at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge.

Senior Katherine Zhu and sophomore Mika Jin each birdied her last hole to help the Bears break a tie with No. 22 Arizona and place 11th. The tournament featured 10 teams ranked in the latest Golfstat top-25, including four top-10 squads.

Sophomore Cristina Ochoa was Cal's top individual finisher at 9-over par for the tournament. That put her in a tie for 38th place in the 84-team field, where only five golfers broke par.

Arias and Zhu were each 10-over par for the Bears, who finished at 37-over par. Oregon won the championship and was the only team to break even at 4-under par.

Cal will play its fourth tournament in four weeks next Monday and Tuesday at the Fresno State Invitational.
