Cal Trio Recognized For Academic Accomplishments During 2021-22 Year
BERKELEY – Three California men's basketball student-athletes were named to the 2021-22 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court on Tuesday, representing outstanding achievement in the classroom.
Recent graduates Logan Alters and Makale Foreman as well as rising senior Lars Thiemann were first-time selections to the NABC Honors Court, which includes junior, senior and graduate men's basketball student-athletes who finished the 2021-22 academic year with a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher. Cal has seen at least one student-athlete named to the NABC Honors Court in all three years of the Mark Fox era, and its three honorees in 2021-22 are most in that span.
Alters graduated early this spring with his degree in business administration while Foreman, who played the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons for the Golden Bears after previous time spent at Chattanooga and Stony Brook, completed a graduate degree. Thiemann, who was recognized by the NABC for his junior academic year, is majoring in nutrition science and is expected to graduate in spring 2023.
