Seven Bears Named WCGA Scholastic All-Americans
Cal Earns WCGA Team Academic Award
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Cal women's gymnastics was honored with a team academic award and seven gymnasts were named to the WCGA Academic All-America team announced on Wednesday by the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA).

The women's gymnastics team compiled a GPA of 3.334 during the 2021-22 school year and earned the Team Academic Award as one of the top programs in the sport. This is the third consecutive season that the Bears have earned the Team Academic Award.

Milan Clausi,
Blake Gozashti,
Jordan Kane,
Gabby Perea,
Nina Schank andÂ
Emi Watterson earned WCGA Scholastic All-American honors for having a GPA of 3.5 or above, either cumulatively or during the past school year.

Schank earned the award for the fifth consecutive year, becoming the first Cal gymnast to win the award five times. She was previously one of three who had won the award four times.

Byun, Clausi and Perea all earned the award for the second time in their careers. Byun and Perea won in 2021 while Clausi earned her first honor in 2020. Gozashti, Kane and Watterson all were first-time winners.

The seven honorees is tied for second-most recipients Cal has had named as WCGA Scholastic All-Americans in school history. Cal previously had seven during the 1995 season, but set a new record last year when 11 Bears were named to the All-American team. Â Â Â
