Oke Earns U23 U.S. Women’s Youth National Team Call Up

Bears’ Defender to Join Roster for Thorns Preseason Tournament Later This Month

BERKELEY- Ayo Oke from the California women's soccer team has been named to the U.S. Under-23 Women's Youth National Team roster for the Thorns Preseason Tournament from March 12-18. The junior defender will join the USA as it heads to Portland, Oregon to take on three NWSL teams at Providence Park.

The Thorns Preseason Tournament begins on March 12 as the USA faces OL Reign, followed by March 15 match with the Portland Thorns, and concluding with a March 18 match against Racing Louisville.

Oke is no stranger to the international stage having been a part of the U-20 CONCACAF championship team in 2022. As a member of that roster, she helped the USA qualify for the World Cup. The Lawrenceville, Georgia native has been a consistent member of the organization since joining the U-15 team and has traveled to tournaments all over Europe, Asia, and the United States.

As a sophomore for Cal, Oke enjoyed her best season yet being named First Team All-Pacific Region and Second Team All-Pac-12. She wrote herself into the Cal record books this past season, tying for second place on the single season assists leaderboard with nine.  She led the conference in assists and ranked 22nd nationally.
