No. 7 Cal Selected To Pittsburgh Regional
Bears Head To Their Eleventh-Straight NCAA Regional

BERKELEY - The No. 7 California women's gymnastics team is heading to Pittsburgh for the NCAA Regional, which takes place March 30 through April 2. The Golden Bears will be the second-seeded team in the regional and will be joined by No. 2 Florida, No. 10 Michigan State, No. 15 Arizona State, Western Michigan, West Virginia, Maryland, Towson and Penn State at the Petersen Events Center.

This is the eleventh-straight year that the Bears will go dancing as they search for their fifth NCAA Championship berth in the last six years.

Cal's first test will be the semifinal round of the regional scheduled, for Friday, March 31. That quad meet features Michigan State, Western Michigan and West Virginia. Should Cal place second or better, it will advance to Sunday's regional final against the top two teams from Florida, ASU, Maryland, Towson/Penn State quad. Towson and Penn State will compete in a play-in dual meet to reach the Friday night session.

The top two teams of the regional final will advance to the NCAA Championships in Fort Worth, Texas on April 13-15.

Cal enters the postseason as a Pac-12 regular season co-champion and boasts its highest end-of-year NQS in program history of 197.825. It's been another historical season for the Bears who have completely rewritten the record book and currently rank fourth in the nation on bars, sixth on beam and tenth on floor and vault.
