BERKELEY – The California softball team travels north for its first midweek game of the season on Tuesday at UC Davis.
 
First pitch between the Golden Bears and Aggies is set for 3 p.m. from La Rue Field. Cal and UC Davis met once earlier this season, a 3-1 Bear victory on Feb. 18 at the Wilson Invitational in Long Beach.

 HOW TO FOLLOW QUICK HITS
  • Cal is second in the Pac-12 with 31 home runs through the first 20 games of the season. The Bears are coming off of a five-home run outing in the home-opening win over Villanova on Sunday.  
  • The Bears have scored 136 runs during the first month of the season, the fourth-most in the conference.
  • Cal's 70 extra-base hits (31 HR, 35 2B, 4 3B) are second in the Pac-12 behind Arizona State's 71 (36 HR, 31 2B, 4 3B).
  • Haylei Archer has been stellar in the circle through four weeks of tournament play, going 6-1 with a 1.24 ERA. Archer threw a two-hit shutout against Villanova on Sunday.
  • Mika Lee had an outstanding weekend in Cal's final weekend of tournament play at the DeMarini Invitational. Lee went 6-for-7 in two games on Saturday, including the game-winner in a 12-11, eight-inning comeback win for the Bears.
  • Makena Smith had a 3-for-3 day at the plate with two home runs in the run-rule victory on Sunday. She's currently tied for second in the Pac-12 with seven long balls on the season.
  • Mika Lee (.395), D'Asha Saiki (.378), Makena Smith (.375), Kacey Zobac (.365) and Sophie Medellin (.318) are all hitting above .300 to lead the Bears after the first month.
