BEARS HOST ARIZONA STATE ON SUNDAY
— Arizona State holds an 8-4 advantage in the all-time series after the teams first met in 2018 and has won each of the last seven games, including all three contests each of the last two seasons
— The teams have faced each other in the quarterfinals of each of the past three Pac-12 Championships with the Bears a winner in Eugene in 2019 for their first-ever victory in the event, and the Sun Devils victorious at Stanford in 2021 and in Tempe in 2022
— Other memorable games have included a 13-12 Arizona State overtime victory the first time the teams ever played each other (March 25, 2018), a 17-13 Cal win in Tempe one week later (April 1, 2018) that was the Bears' first Pac-12 victory ever and the first of four straight wins over the Sun Devils, and a wild 21-18 Arizona State win in Berkeley last March

LAST TIME OUT: CAL DROPS 11-6 DECISION TO NO. 19 USC ON FRIDAY
— Cal returned to action for the first time in 12 days and played competitively against the Pac-12's first-place team and 19th-ranked USC before dropping an 11-6 decision
— USC was in control early, scoring the game's first five goals in the opening quarter before Cal tallied four in a row of its own to cut the Trojan advantage to 5-4 with 8:48 to go in the opening half. USC's defense would hold the Bears without a goal for the next 26:28 while scoring six of its own to extend the lead to 11-4 before the Bears picked up pair of goals over the game's final 2:20
— Kennedy Mason and Amanda Morse each had a pair of goals for the Bears, while Quinnlyn Mason and Mya Wang added one each. e Maya Lawliss, Josie Lillquist and Kate Rothman had one assist apiece.
— Riley Drullinger and Alicia Souliotis both played in goal for the Bears with Drullinger between the pipes for the final three quarters and picking up eight saves while allowing six goals. Souliotis gave up five goals with one save in the opening frame.
