Three Bears Among Top 13 Individually Through 36 Holes

SANTA CRUZ – Sampson Zheng and Aaron Du maintained top-10 individual positions after 36 holes played despite the California men's golf team dropping back three spots to fourth place on the leaderboard at the Western Intercollegiate on Tuesday.
 
Cal, which led the field with a 16-under par 334 on Monday, shot a second-round 362 on Tuesday while No. 9 Pepperdine (-27) stormed into first place with a 22-under 328. No. 22 Oregon (-13) and No. 43 BYU (-8) are in second and third place with 18 holes to play at Pasatiempo Golf Club.
 
Zheng (-4) shot an even par 70 and is tied for eighth to lead all Golden Bears. Du – who tied a tournament low 18-hole score with a 7-under 63 on Monday – fell back to a tie for 10th place by shooting 74 in round two. Cal's biggest individual jump of the day was made by Nathan Wang, who climbed 27 spots into a tie for 13th with a 3-under 67.
