Cal Opens Home Slate Under The Lights Against Auburn
ESPN To Televise Tigers’ First-Ever Visit To Berkeley
The California football team opens its 2023 home schedule September 9 by hosting perennial national and SEC power Auburn for a Gold Out contest under the lights at California Memorial Stadium. The Saturday night ESPN game will be Auburn's first-ever visit to Berkeley and kicks off at 7:30 p.m. PT.
The Golden Bears also learned Wednesday that their September 2 season-opener at North Texas will be televised by ESPNU and begin at 3 p.m. CT/1 p.m. PT, while the September 16 home contest against Idaho will kick off at 1 p.m. PT on Pac-12 Network.
Kickoff times and full television selections for Cal's other nine regular-season games are expected to be announced either six or 12 days in advance, although both Cal's Nov. 11 home game against Washington State and Nov. 25 road contest at UCLA have been selected for the ESPN platform with the specific channel to be determined at a later date. All 12 of Cal's regular-season contests are on Saturdays and scheduled to be televised by a combination of ABC, the ESPN channels, FOX and FS1, and Pac-12 Network.
