Bears Conclude U19 World Rowing Championships
Cecchini Leads Italy To Fifth-Place Finish In Men’s Four
PARIS – A pair of incoming freshmen on the California men's rowing team concluded their races this weekend at the U19 World Rowing Championships, held at the Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium, the site of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic rowing events.
Giorgio Cecchini, competing in his first U19 World Championships, raced for Italy in the men's four. His crew was able to advance to the A final, where it finished in fifth place overall in a time of 6:21.31.
Jack Skinner, racing in his second consecutive U19 World Championships, competed for the United States in the men's eight. His crew just missed out on advancing to the final stage, finishing just two seconds behind Italy in the repechage round for the last spot in a time of 5:45.32.
