BERKELEY – The California men's soccer team continues Pac-12 play when the Golden Bears play at 17th-ranked San Diego State on Thursday and at UCLA on Sunday.
 
Thursday's game will air on the Aztec Digital Network, while the Pac-12 Networks will broadcast Sunday's match.

Bears Open Pac-12 Slate With Oregon State Tie
Cal took a 2-0 lead over Oregon State – on a Juan Martinez penalty kick and an Arik Duncan goal – in the teams' Pac-12 opener Sept. 14 in Berkeley. But the Beavers scored twice, and the teams settled for a 2-2 draw.
 
On Sept. 17 at Edwards Stadium, Cal had another close conference match on its hands against Washington. But the Huskies prevailed, 1-0.

  • In 2022, Cal beat SDSU, 2-0, in Berkeley and tied San Diego State, 2-2, in San Diego
  • Cal played a pair of one-goal games vs. UCLA last season, falling to the Bruins, 2-1, at home and losing 1-0 on the road

  • Defender/midfielder Wyatt Meyer was chosen to the Preseason All-Pac-12 Team
  • Leonard Griffin – who won the 2002 NCAA championship as a UCLA player in 2002 – is in his second season as head coach of the Golden Bears
  • A former professional player who was drafted No. 11 overall by the Chicago Fire in the 2004 MLS SuperDraft, Griffin made MLS stops in Portland, in Columbus and in Los Angeles with the Galaxy

  • UCLA hosts Stanford on Thursday in the Bruins' conference opener
