Cal Hosts No. 8 Santa Clara, Cal State Fullerton
Both Matches To Be Air On Pac-12 Networks
BERKELEY- The California women's soccer team (2-2-0) is set to host a pair of matches this week at Edwards Stadium. The Golden Bears welcome No. 8 Santa Clara on Thursday and Cal State Fullerton on Sunday. Both matches kick-off at 3 p.m. PT on Pac-12 Networks.

Scouting the Competition
No. 8 Santa Clara comes in an undefeated 6-0-0 and holds a 16-3 goal differential. It will be a rematch of last year's NCAA Championship first-round matchup in which the Broncos sent the Bears home with a 1-0 win in double overtime. Cal State Fullerton comes into the weekend with a record of 0-3-3. The Titans earned two straight ties with Southern Utah and Utah. They will host San Diego at home before making the trip up to Berkeley.
Two In A Row
After opening the season with a pair of road losses to two tough opponents, the Bears bounced back with two straight wins this past week. Cal topped USF 5-1 in its home opener and blanked Cal Poly 2-0 at home. The Bears boasted a 7-1 goal differential over the two contests.
Bears Picked Fourth in Pac-12 Preseason Coaches Poll
Cal was picked to finish fourth in the Pac-12 Preseason Coaches Poll. It's the Bears' highest placement on the poll since 2018 and matches their 2022 finish. UCLA was picked to finish first, followed by Stanford in second and USC in third. Rounding out the top five was Washington State in fifth.
Wy Named Preseason All-Pac-12
Sophomore Goalkeeper Teagan Wy was named to the inaugural Preseason All-Pac-12 Team as voted on by the conference's head coaches. Wy spent 165 minutes between the posts last season as a freshman and did not allow a goal in her five appearances.
In May, the Rancho Santa Margarita native earned a spot on the U.S. Women's Youth National Team's CONCACAF U-20 roster and helped lead her country to a second-place finish in the prestigious tournament. She started in four of the team's five matches and earned three wins, including a shutout.

The Bears are 2-0 during their current five-match home stand at Edwards Stadium. The next two contests will be broadcast live on Pac-12 Networks.
2022 In Review
The Bears are coming a strong 2022 season in which they posted a 10-5-6 overall record with a 5-3-3 Pac-12 mark to finish fourth in the conference. It was Cal's best finish since 2015 and capped off with a return to the NCAA Championship, the 13th postseason berth under head coach Neil McGuire.
