SAN FRANCISCO – California sophomore diver Joshua Thai has been named the Pac-12 Men's Diver of the Month as announced by the conference office Tuesday morning.

Thai competed in four events last weekend in back-to-back duel meets against conference rivals Arizona and Arizona State, winning three. In the showdown against No. 1 Arizona State on Saturday, Thai won both the 1-meter and 3-meter, scoring 18 crucial points in the Bears' tie against the top-ranked Sun Devils.

The sophomore from Alhambra opened the week scoring 325.65 points in the 1-meter dive against the Wildcats. He followed that up with a third-place finish in the 3-meter dive with a score of 317.33, scoring 12 individual points.

The following day against ASU, he opened the meet with a season-best score in the 1-meter dive, finishing with 337.65. He capped off his impressive week with a score of 365.40 in the 3-meter drive – his second-best mark in the event this season.

This is the second Diver of the Week award for Thai, who was also named the Pac-12 Diver of the Month for December 2022.

Cal will return to action on Friday, Feb. 2 when the Golden Bears take on USC at the Uytengsu Aquatic Center in Los Angeles starting at 1 p.m. PT. Some of the Cal contingent will also be competing in the Triton Invitational hosted by UC San Diego down in La Jolla that same day.
