Bears To Play Inaugural Season In ACC
BERKELEY – The California softball team revealed its 53-game schedule for the 2025 campaign Friday, featuring 14 home games at Levine-Fricke Field.
After a 37-19 (9-13 Pac-12) record a season ago, the Golden Bears are set to embark on a new era in their first-ever season as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference, in which they will also play 20 road games and 19 neutral site contests. Cal looks to make its third consecutive postseason appearance under head coach
Chelsea Spencer, who enters her fifth season at the helm.
The Bears' 53rd season in program history starts with four early season tournaments, beginning with the Kajikawa Classic against Minnesota, in Tempe, Arizona, on Feb. 7-9. Cal will then head to the Wilson Invitational (Feb. 14-16) in Long Beach, followed by the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic (Feb. 20-23) in Palm Springs, as well as a multi-team tournament at Fresno State (Feb. 28-March 2).
Cal will make its home debut and play its first ACC action in a three-game series against Boston College on March 7-9. The Bears will host three other conference opponents, including Georgia Tech (March 14-16), Florida State (April 11-13) and Virginia Tech (April 25-27), the latter of which will complete their 2025 home slate.
The Bears will hit the road to visit four conference campuses starting at Virginia (March 21-23), followed by Clemson (March 28-30), the Big Series against Stanford (April 18-20), and a regular-season-ending series at Syracuse (May 2-4).
Cal will play eight single games against nonconference opponents throughout the season; two home matchups – Nevada (April 4) and Pacific (April 9) and six away meetings – UC Davis (March 5), Sacramento State (March 12), James Madison (March 25), San Jose State (April 8), Saint Mary's (April 15) and Santa Clara (April 22).
The ACC Championship will be held at Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts from May 7-10.
