A Win Would Mark First Season Sweep Since 2018-19
The California women's basketball team (14-10, 4-8 Pac-12) will look to complete a season sweep against Washington (13-9, 3-8) when it takes on the Huskies at American Airlines Arena on Sunday at 12 p.m. PT in Seattle, Washington. A win would mark the first season sweep of the Huskies along with the Washington schools since the 2018-19 season.
This game marks the 80th all-time meeting between the two programs with Washington holding a 50-29 series advantage and Cal winning the most recent matchup, 70-57, this past January. Cal's last win at Washington came in an 81-74 overtime victory on Feb. 2, 2020.
Washington is led by third-year head coach Tina Langley. The Huskies are coming off a 2022-23 season in which they made it to the semifinal round of the WNIT. Washington returns three starters from that team including former Bear Dalayah Daniels, who leads the team in rebounding.
In the most recent contest between the teams at Haas Pavilion in January, Cal controlled a majority of the game and held Washington to its second-lowest shooting percentage of the season up to that point at 36.1% to come away with the 70-57 victory. Ioanna Krimili scored 21 points in what was just her second game back from injury.
Sunday's game will air on Pac-12 Washington with Alyssa Charston and Elise Woodward on the call.
