Frazier Makes History With Another Weekly Award

Sophomore Becomes First Cal Gymnast To Be Named Pac-12 Gymnast Of The Week Four Times During Single Season

The No. 3 California women's gymnastics team's historic season continued Tuesday when sophomore eMjae Frazier was named the Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week.

With the honor, Frazier becomes the first Cal gymnast ever to win the award in three consecutive weeks and four times during a single season.

Frazier led the Golden Bears (14-3, 7-0 Pac-12) to their highest team score ever Sunday in a 198.550-197.975 victory at No. 22 Stanford that secured the first outright conference championship in program history. In the process, Frazier tied her school record for individual all-around score with a 39.825.

Frazier won the all-around and uneven bars titles against the Cardinal and also tied for the win in vault and floor exercise. It's the third straight week she's won the all-around competition and now has 20 overall individual event titles this season.

Frazier is currently the No. 2 all-around gymnast in the country while also ranking in the top 10 on balance beam (t-5th), floor exercise (t-5th) and uneven bars (t-6th).

The Bears close out the regular season this weekend with a pair of tri-meets at Haas Pavilion. Cal hosts UC Davis and San Jose State on Friday before welcoming Stanford and Sac State to Berkeley on Senior Day on Sunday.
