HOW TO FOLLOW SERIES AT A GLANCE
  • Arizona leads the all-time series with Cal, 90-36, but the Bears took two of three last season in Tucson, the first series win at Hillenbrand Stadium since 2013. Cal won the 2022 season series in Berkeley by winning two of three in the set. The only time the Bears have taken three straight series from the Wildcats in program history was 2011-13.
QUICK HITS
  • The Bears have hit the most home runs in the conference so far this season (41), 12 more than Arizona and Washington (29), who are currently tied for second.
  • Cal is also among the top four in the conference in several other offensive categories, including runs (168, 3rd), hits (236, 3rd), doubles (41, 2nd), RBI (153, T-1st) and extra-base hits (84, 2nd).
  • The Bears check in at No. 16 in the third NCAA RPI of the season. Cal was No. 9 in the initial rankings, its highest since reaching No. 2 in 2012.
  • Cal is ranked No. 19 in this week's NFCA poll, No. 21 in the USA Softball and Softball America rankings and sits at No. 22 in the D1 Softball rankings.
  • Chelsea Spencer earned win No. 100 as head coach of the Golden Bears two weeks ago at Oregon, where she spent six years as an assistant coach under Mike White from 2013-18.
  • Cal won 14 straight games in February, the program's longest win streak since taking 22 in a row in 2013.
  • Elon Butler was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week on Feb. 20 after a standout performance during the Golden Bears' undefeated weekend at the Littlewood Classic. Butler hit .600 (9-for-15) in Cal's five victories, collecting two home runs and two doubles to go with seven RBI. Her 2-run homer tied the game against then-No. 17/21 Virginia Tech as the Bears went on to a 6-5, eight-inning, victory over the Hokies.
