Golden Bears Sign Lee Dort

6-Foot-10 Forward Joins Cal Following 2 Years At Vanderbilt

BERKELEY – Lee Dort has signed to play for the California men's basketball program, head coach Mark Madsen announced Wednesday. Dort was a Vanderbilt Commodore for two years and joins the Golden Bears for the upcoming 2024-25 season with two years of eligibility remaining.

Dort, a 6-foot-10, 245-pound forward, appeared in 18 games across his two seasons with the Commodores, averaging 1.7 points and 2.1 rebounds. The former four-star recruit tallied 12 blocks and shot 65% (13-of-20) from the field in 17 games as a freshman.

"Lee has size and mobility in the paint that make him an impact on both ends of the floor, and his great footwork on the block allows him to play very effectively with angles," Madsen said. "He's a true deterrent on defense with instinctive shot-blocking abilities, and he can run the floor very well. We were very thorough in our recruitment of Lee and I'm excited to have him and his family join us in Berkeley."

Born in Saint Marc, Haiti, Dort completed his prep career at Greenhill School in Addison, Texas, averaging 16.8 points and 11.8 rebounds per game as a senior in 2021-22. He arrived at Vanderbilt ranked as the No. 43 recruit in the nation by Rivals and the nation's No. 26 center by ESPN.com.
