California-UC Davis Postgame Notes

Cal played in its first game as a member of the ACC.
Jaydn Ott had two rushing touchdowns from 1 and 6 yards out with 6:23 remaining in the first quarter and 7:18 to go in the third to move into a tie for eighth place on Cal's all-time list with 22 rushing TD's. It was Ott's fifth career game with two or more rushing touchdowns and his seventh straight game with at least one TD overall, including at least one rushing TD in six of those seven.
Nohl Williams' 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown with 4:31 to go in the second quarter was his third career touchdown (all at Cal). He had fumble returns for TD's in 2023 in back-to-back games at Oregon (9 yards) and vs. Washington State (52 yards).
Nyziah Hunter recorded his first career touchdown reception on a 3-yard catch from Fernando Mendoza with 14:15 to go in the fourth quarter.
Nyziah Hunter (4 receptions, 47 yards), Mike Matthews (2 receptions, 20 yards), Corey Dyches (2 receptions, 17 yards) and Jonathan Brady (1 reception, 16 yards) each had their first receptions at Cal with Hunter also recording the first receptions of his collegiate career.
Cal had three takeaways on interceptions by Marcus Harris, Cade Uluave and Nohl Williams for its most in a game since also getting three in the 2023 opener at North Texas. In 2023, Cal tied for the nation's lead with 28 takeaways (12 interceptions).
Marcus Harris' interception was his first at Cal and seventh of his career (6 at Idaho), while Uluave was the third of his career all at Cal.
Cal recorded its second shutout of an opponent in the second half in the last three games (also at UCLA on Nov. 25, 2023).
Cal had seven players make their first starts for the Golden Bears - Jonathan Brady, Teddye Buchanan, Marcus Harris, Aidan Keanaaina, Nick Morrow, Rush Reimer and Miles Williams.
Cal had 22 players play in their first game for the Golden Bears - T.J. Bollers, Jonathan Brady, Teddye Buchanan, Kadarius Calloway, Byron Cardwell, Ryan Coe, Isaiah Crosby, Corey Dyches, Cheikhsaliou Fall, Aaron Hampton, Marcus Harris, Nyziah Hunter, Aidan Keanaaina, Mikey Matthews, Nick Morrow, Rush Reimer, Chandler Rogers, Ja'ir Smith, Victor Stoffell, Isaac Torres, Serigne Tounkara and Ryan Yaites.
Cal Improved to 12-0 all-time against UC Davis. All games have been played at California Memorial Stadium.
