SPOKANE, Wash. – California track & field closed out its opening weekend of competition with another successful day at The Podium, earning six victories and another trio of program top 10s at the Spokane Indoor Challenge.

Once again, Cal's sprinters and hurdlers were the stars of the show, collecting all three of the Bears' new program top-10 times and accounting for six of the team's 10 podium finishes. The trio of David Foster (21.22), Gavin Schurr (21.23) and Johnny Goode (21.24) finished 1-2-3 in the men's 200m – Foster and Goode rose to second and third, respectively, on the program's all-time list, while Schurr missed his own school record by just .02 seconds. Competing in her first indoor race since 2023, Aysha Shaheed came even closer to her own school record in the women's 200m, winning the race by nearly half a second (23.78) and finishing .01 seconds off her personal best. Sophomore Mari Testa claimed a second-place finish in the 60m hurdles, posting a PR in two-straight days to move into a tie for eighth on the all-time program list (8.61). The sprinters closed out their weekend with the women's 4x400m relay as the quartet of Loreal Wilson, Jayden Hill, Zoe Lahanas and Ryan Lacefield combined for a winning time of 3:47.29.
