BERKELEY – After a stellar debut weekend, California women's water polo freshman Rosalie Hassett has been named the MPSF Newcomer of the Week.

The Orinda native was a top contributor for the Golden Bears during their 3-0 start to the 2025 season at the Fresno State Polo-Palooza, as she tallied five goals, four assists, three steals and two drawn exclusions.

Hassett – who won a gold medal with Team USA at the 2024 Pan-American Aquatics Water Polo Championship – scored once in her collegiate debut Friday in a 19-7 win over No. 18 San Jose State. She was crucial on both ends of the pool in Cal's 13-10 victory over No. 9 Fresno State the following day, scoring once with two assists and three steals.

In the final game of the weekend, Hassett put up three goals and two assists as the Bears took down No. 12 UC San Diego 24-8.
