Postgame Notes: Cal At Virginia Tech

- Cal fell to 1-1 all-time against Virginia Tech. The Bears were a 52-49 winner over the Hokies in the only previous meeting between the teams at the 2003 Insight Bowl played in Phoenix, Arizona. Tonight's contest was the first conference meeting between the teams with both members of the ACC.
- ILB Cade Uluave had career highs of 19 tackles, 3 tackles for loss and 2 sacks. His first tackle of the game was the 200th of his career and he now has a total of 218 in his career.
- RB Kendrick Raphael had a career-high three touchdown runs to give him a team-high eight on the season and 12 for his career. It marked the first time a Cal rusher scored three touchdowns on the ground since Jaydn Ott also had three against USC on Oct. 18, 2023
- QB Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele became the first true freshman in FBS history to pass for 200 or more yards in each of the first eight games of their collegiate career. Sagapolute finished 24-for-39 for 285 yards and a touchdown.
- WR Jordan King had a career-high 64 yards receiving and tied his career-best with four receptions. His 38-yard reception was the longest of his career
- WR Jacob De Jesus finished with a game-high eight receptions for 85 yards receiving.
- Cal extended its string of consecutive games with at least one sack to 20. The Golden Bears finished with three.
- DB Cam Sidney registered his first career interception
- WR Jaiven Plummer made his first collegiate start, while TE Landon Morris made his first start at Cal.
