Bears Surge In 2nd Round At Preserve Club Collegiate

Cal Shoots 7-Under Before Play Suspended

CARMEL – The California men's golf team bounced back from a subpar first round to shoot 7-under par in the second round before play was suspended due to darkness at The Preserve Club Collegiate on Monday.

The Golden Bears carded 10-over par in the first round before turning things around in the second round. Fifth-year senior Charlie Berridge was 6-under through 16 holes while junior Charlie Bundy and sophomore Matthew Miyamoto were also under par in the second round after over-par first rounds.

Sophomore Sihao Cong carded a 4-under par in the first round and is at 1-under for the tournament through 12 holes of the second round.

Freshman Trevor Cox, playing as an individual, is also at 1-under par with three holes to play in the second round.

Cal is at 3-over par as a team. No. 25 BYU leads the tournament at 26-under par.

The second round will resume Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. PT with the third and final round immediately following.
