Cal Registers Top-15 Finishes At NCAA West Regionals
Women Finish in 10th Place; Men Take 13th
SACRAMENTO - The California men's and women's cross country teams competed at the NCAA West Regional Championships on Friday, with the women finishing in 10th place and the men placing 13th.
The women's team started the day out strong, with three runners posting season-bests and finishing in the top 60. Sophie Tau came in 30th place with a time of 20:28.1, followed by Addie Johnson in 36th place, timed at 20:36.5. Senior Georgia McCorkle finished in 55th place with a personal best of 20:54.2.
On the men's side, Justin Pretre came in 60th place with a final time of 30:36.5, followed by John Sesteaga in 72nd place with a time of 30:53.9.
"Both teams ran hard and competed well today," Cal head coach Bobby Lockhart said. "I am especially proud of the women's team and their determination going into the competition. Each one of them had their best race of the year. It's a wonderful way to cap off the season
