Puff Morris Named ACC Rookie Of The Week

Morris Receives Cal’s First-Ever Conference Honor

California freshman point guard Puff Morris was named the ACC Rookie of the Week following her standout performances during games between Nov. 10-16, the conference office announced Monday. The weekly award is voted on by the ACC's Blue Ribbon panel made up of local media associated with each of the conference's member institutions.

Morris was instrumental in helping the Golden Bears to a 3-0 week including the program's second straight Raising The B.A.R. Invitational championship with a win over Harvard on Sunday. For the week, she averaged 9.7 points and 4.3 rebounds per game while leading the team with 13 assists and seven 3-pointers. Morris' best game of the week came against Charlotte when she scored 17 points (which included 5-for-10 from deep), grabbed eight rebounds and had six assists. She is currently the only freshman in the NCAA with at least a 17-8-6 stat line for a single game.

Her 13 assists and seven triples for the week led all freshmen in the ACC and her 29 points and 13 rebounds ranked second. The 17 points scored against Charlotte currently ranks tied for first in the conference for a single game among all rookies this season.

This marks Cal's first player to receive the conference weekly honor since making the move to the ACC in 2024-25.
