ORLANDO, Fla. – California women's tennis All-American Berta Passola Folch won in straight sets for the third consecutive match at the NCAA Singles Championship on Thursday to advance to the quarterfinal round at the USTA National Campus.

The senior – ranked 113th in the ITA preseason poll – defeated NC State's 74th-ranked Gabriella Broadfoot 6-4, 6-3 in the round of 16 to run her current winning streak to six matches and improve her fall record to 14-3. She next plays 103rd-ranked Kyoka Kubo of Kansas in Friday's quarterfinals at 7 a.m. PT.

Passola Folch – in her first appearance in either the NCAA singles or doubles tournaments – has made the furthest run of any Golden Bear in the NCAA Singles Championship since alumna Lynn Chi reached the 2014 final. The last time the Bears reached at least the quarterfinals of the NCAA Doubles Championship was in 2017, when alumnae Maegan Manasse and Maya Jansen advanced to the semifinals.

NCAA singles and the fall half of the 2025-26 season conclude Sunday.
