Klompmaker Named NFHCA All-American
Sophomore Forward Named To Third Team
California sophomore forward
Liz Klompmaker has been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-American Third Team, the organization announced on Tuesday morning. She is one of 16 student-athletes recognized on the third team and one of 48 across the country to be placed on one of the three teams.
This marks Klompmaker's first-ever All-American recognition and the first for the Golden Bears since Andrea Earle was named to the All-American Third Team in 2011. She now becomes the 12th player in program history to earn the honor.
The All-American honor adds to the list of postseason accolades Klompmaker has earned following the 2025 season. She was also named to the NFHCA All-Region First Team and the All-ACC First Team for the second straight year.
Klompmaker finished the 2025 season ranked fourth in the ACC in goals (16) and third in shots (77). She had three multi-score games this season, including two games with three goals scored. In the win against Stanford to close out the season, she scored twice to move into a tie for ninth place on Cal's all-time career goals list.
Klompmaker scored a goal in 11 of 16 games played this season and was named the ACC Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 14 for the second time in her career after scoring the game-winning goal in the upset win over No. 5 Syracuse.
"I am really happy for Liz to be recognized as an All-American," Donna Fong Director of Field Hockey
Shellie Onstead said. "She had a great second season as she settled into the collegiate game and found her role in the attack, utilizing her athleticism and talent. What you don't see in the statistics is her work rate throughout a game and her contribution to the defensive side of the ball. The coaching staff and her teammates are very proud of her!"
