DeJardin, Johnson Named Academic All-District
CSC Honor Is Second Straight For DeJardin, First For Johnson
California volleyball's
Peyton DeJardin and
Sophia Johnson have been named as College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honorees for the 2025-26 season, as announced by the organization Tuesday.
To be eligible for consideration, players must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and at least an academic sophomore. They must also have either competed in 90% of their team's matches or started at least 66% of those matches.
This is DeJardin's second Academic All-District nod, having also earned the honor in 2024. As a senior, she started in 26 matches for the Golden Bears and led the team with 265 kills (2.55 kills per set), posting a career-best 21 kills against LSU on Sept. 10 and hitting a career-high .533 with 17 kills in Cal's ACC opener at Virginia Tech (Sept. 27). DeJardin was second on the team with four double-doubles on the year, including a 16-kill, 12-dig effort in Cal's season finale at Duke (Nov. 28).
Johnson's first Academic All-District nod comes after her first season as the Bears' libero, starting all 30 matches in her junior year and leading the team with 399 total digs (3.56 digs per set). She posted six outings of 20 or more digs in 2025, including a career-best 26 at NC State on Nov. 2, and was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 29 after leading Cal to wins over Virginia Tech and Virginia with an average of 5.29 digs per set. Johnson also ranked third on the team in service aces (20) and assists (95).
