Bears Face Challenging 2026 Schedule

Golden Bears To Take On 13 Opponents That Reached Last Year’s NCAA Championship

The California softball team will play a challenging 2026 schedule as it seeks a fourth consecutive trip to an NCAA regional.

The Golden Bears, playing under first-year head coach Steve Singleton, will face 13 opponents that qualified for last year's NCAA Championship and nine that finished the season nationally ranked. Cal will play in four consecutive tournaments to begin the campaign, all in California.

The Bears open the season Feb. 6-8 at the Stanford Invitational, featuring two opponents that competed in last year's postseason – Oklahoma State and Stanford. Of the 13 foes that earned a spot in the 2025 NCAA Championship, three advanced all the way to the Women's College World Series – Oklahoma, Florida and UCLA.

Cal opens its second ACC schedule against Duke on March 6-8 in the first of four home conference series that will be played at an alternative site while Cal's softball facility undergoes renovations. The Bears and Blue Devils will meet at Sacramento State's Shea Stadium.

Cal's other three ACC home series – against North Carolina, Louisville and Stanford – will take place at Viking Field at West Valley College in Saratoga.

The Bears' schedule also features games against 2025 NCAA Super Regional qualifiers Florida State and Nebraska.

The 2026 ACC Championship is scheduled for May 6-9 at the University of Virginia.
