CHARLOTTE – California freshman guard Jeremiah Wilkinson was voted as the ACC Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the third time this season, the conference office announced Monday.
 
Wilkinson led the Golden Bears with 17.5 points per game in a two-game split with NC State (74-62 win) and Wake Forest (76-66 loss) last week. He scored 14 points and dished out a season-high four assists in the midweek win against the Wolfpack before scoring 21 points in the loss to the Demon Deacons. The left-hander knocked down five 3-pointers across the two games, including three vs. Wake Forest.
 
The 21-point effort against Wake Forest was Wilkinson's sixth game with 20-plus points, the third most by any ACC freshman this season. Wilkinson – who ranks second among ACC freshmen this season with 13.8 points per game – has scored double figures in 18 of the past 20 contests, including 11 times in 13 ACC games, and is averaging 19.8 PPG since being inserted into the starting lineup six games ago.
 
Wilkinson was previously named ACC Co-Rookie of the Week twice on Dec. 2 and Jan. 27. He's the only ACC freshman other than Duke's Cooper Flagg (nine times) to earn the weekly honor multiple times this season.
