PALOS VERDES – Junior Adora Liu shot under par for the second straight day and freshman Marie-Agnes Fischer recorded her best round as a Golden Bear on Tuesday as the California women's golf team closed out the Therese Hession Regional Challenge at Palos Verdes Golf Club in eighth place.

The Bears posted a 16-over-par 868 team score, led by Liu's 6-over 219. Liu (219, +6) carded her second straight 1-under, giving her six par or better rounds this season, tied with senior Kaylyn Noh for the most on the team.

Only five of the 88 golfers in competition had a better final round than Fischer (220, +7). After starting her day with birdies on four of the first five holes, Fischer went on to put away six total birdies, her most in a round this season. She finished in a tie with Noh (220, +7) for the second-lowest score on the team.

Sophomore Constance Fouillet (222, +9) shot 2-over 73 in the final round, while senior Jieming Yang (222, +9) ended the tournament with an 8-over 79.

Cal will have 20 days until its next action at the two-day Bruin Wave Invitational on Feb. 24-25 in Valencia.
