Stojakovic Earns All-District Honors
Sophomore Guard Among Top Players On West Coast
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – California guard
Andrej Stojakovic was tabbed to the 2024-25 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-Pacific District Second Team on Tuesday.
Â
The Golden Bear sophomore was one of the most versatile players in the country this season, joining Cooper Flagg (Duke) and Johni Broome (Auburn) as the only players in NCAA Division I to average at least 17.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.2 blocks per game. His scoring prowess was on full display at last week's ACC Tournament as he averaged 33.0 PPG across two contests, including a career-high 37 points on 13 of 22 shooting in a second-round loss to Stanford. Stojakovic was named to the ACC All-Tournament First Team as a result, just five days after he earned an All-ACC Team honorable mention.
Â
Stojakovic, who transferred to Cal after playing his freshman season at Stanford, scored 20-plus points in 13 games, 11 of which came against power-conference competition. He made dramatic improvements from his freshman year to sophomore year, particularly in scoring (7.8 to 17.9 PPG), rebounding (3.4 to 4.7 RPG), free-throw percentage (52.8% to 81.8%) and blocks (0.1 to 1.2 BPG).
Â
The All-District honors are voted on by NABC-member coaches across NCAA Division I.
Â
The NABC introduced a new model for its Division I district alignment this season, with schools arranged by state rather than by conference. The modernized
NABC Division I district alignment features 10 geographic regions that each encompass multiple states. Every Division I school in each given state belongs to that state's corresponding district.
