LIVERPOOL, England – Competing for the first time since the English Championships three weeks ago, California men's gymnastics freshman
Trigg Dudley returned to his home country once more to compete for the first time in the men's senior category at the British Championships. At the end of six rotations, the eight-time junior British medalist finished 18th in the 36-man field, posting an all-around score of 73.750 at the M&S Bank Arena – an improvement from his English Championships score of 72.300 – with individual improvements on floor, pommel horse, vault and parallel bars.
Dudley started off his day on parallel bars, where he recorded a score of 12.500, followed by a high bar score of 10.850 along with his first stuck dismount of the day. His floor score of 12.900, complete with a stick, was enough to place him in the competition's top 10; in the next rotation, he reached the top five with a 13.100 on pommel horse. For his last two rotations, he posted an 11.950 on rings with yet another stick before finishing with a 12.450 on vault.
The Golden Bears will be back in action as a team April 5 at the MPSF Championships hosted by Air Force.
