The California softball team (23-7, 6-3 ACC) will continue its eight-game road swing with midweek games against Howard (11-15) on Tuesday and James Madison (11-16) on Wednesday.
 
The Golden Bears will face off against Bison for the first time in program history Tuesday before taking on the Dukes for the first time in five years.

  • Cal is amid its first East Coast trip since 2020, when the team participated in the JMU Dukes Invitational in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
  • Freshman Mia Phillips leads the team in several statistical categories – batting average (.420), slugging percentage (.727), hits (37), RBIs (26), triples (5) and total bases (64).
  • The Bears currently rank 23rd in the NCAA in batting average (.340), on-base percentage (.426), and doubles per game (0.33) while ranking 24th in slugging percentage (.560) and 26th in scoring (7.00).

At the event, Anders hit at a .625 (10-for-16) clip with six RBIs, collecting five runs, four doubles and two walks while totaling a .875 slugging percentage. In two of the last three games against LMU and Northwestern, she recorded three hits and had recorded a hit in seven consecutive games at the time.
