STANFORD – Redshirt freshman Sihao Cong shot 3-under-par 67 to pace the California men's golf team in the second round of The Goodwin on Friday afternoon. The Golden Bears (+15) are tied for 16th overall through 36 holes played at Stanford Golf Course.
 
Cong (+1), who was tied for 92nd individually after carding a 4-over 74 in the opening round, climbed 68 spots into a tie for 24th with his 67 on Friday. The Golden Bear was bogey-free and tallied birdies on holes 5, 16 and 17.
 
Freshman Ziqin (Eric) Zhou and senior Charlie Berridge both shot 2-over 72 to make moves up the individual leaderboard; Zhou (+3) will enter the third and final round of The Goodwin in a tie for 44th behind Cong while Berridge jumped 30 spots into a tie for 117th after a difficult first-round 78.
 
SMU (-5), UCLA (-5), Santa Clara (-3), Northwestern (-2) and Colorado (E) rounded out the top five of the 30-team field after Friday.
